A star-studded lineup joined the worldly travels of Broadway Bares: Take Off, 2019’s wanderlust-inducing edition of spectacular striptease. The special evening on Sunday, June 16, 2019, with performances at 9:30 pm and midnight was produced by and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Among the Broadway favorites who performed are Stephen DeRosa (Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus), Jay Armstrong Johnson (The Phantom of the Opera), Nathan Lee Graham (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Zoolander), Tony Award nominee Ashley Park (Mean Girls), two-time Tony nominee Christopher Sieber (The Prom) and Christian Dante White (My Fair Lady).

Combining the sexy wink of classic burlesque with today’s favorite pop music, Broadway Bares: Take Off presented titillating, travel-inspired striptease at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom. From a risqu red light district to a tantalizing taming of the bull; from a mega-hot Burning Man to a celebratory return to Stonewall, attendees were invited on a worldwide romp with sexy dancers as their frisky flight crew, tour guides and cultural attachs.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS awards grants to more than 450 AIDS and family service organizations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. and is the largest single financial supporter of the social service programs of The Actors Fund, helping everyone in entertainment and the performing arts.

Broadway Cares hosts two six-week-long fundraising campaigns in theatres across the country every year, one leading up to the Easter Bonnet Competition in April and the other leading up to the Red Bucket Follies in December. Broadway Cares also produces annual fundraising events in New York City, including Broadway Backwards, Broadway Bares and the Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction.
