Midnight Friday, a look at Sydney’s infamous Kings Cross, entertainment and red light district, 5 years after the controversial lockout laws were introduced…
We take a look down Darlinghurst Road, the main road running through “The Cross”, as a large number of nightclubs, strip clubs, restaurants and bars have all closed down.
Not too long ago, Darlinghurst Road, William Street and Bayswater Road were like busy, bustling New York sidewalks, full of all sorts of characters, travellers, bars, nightclubs, strip clubs, theatres, live music venues, restaurants which made Kings Cross an interesting, crazy, 24 hour nightlife experience.
There are still several venues operating in the area, but you need to visit these venues at the right time, as some only operate in peak party hours, mainly Friday and Saturday Nights.
Currently Saturday Night seems to be the big night here…
The main nightclubs & bars still operating in King Cross include: King Cross Hotel, Potts Point Hotel, The Bourbon, Empire Hotel, Vegas Hotel, Candy’s Apartment, Cali Club, Limited, The Club with several other bars and strip clubs sprinkled around the area.
