This part focuses on our work in the Red Light Districts of Patong and Chalong on the island of Phuket, Thailand. We discuss the similarities and differences and why these places are so popular among tourists/ex-patriots, as well as why the majority of girls end up stuck there.
We also discuss the second part of our trip, working with Lighthouse in Action/Wongen Kafe’ and our work in the dark places of Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Some of the footage in this piece is stuff I intended to use for a 5-10 minute short on Patong and the issues/perspectives of what goes on in the prostitution/trafficking there. Unfortunately our schedule changed, but a lot of the footage was still usable for this.
These are very real issues and if you have never heard about them or if you thought that prostitution is a choice – I urge you, watch this through and think again!
The songs used in this part are (in order):
Take No Glory – Beautiful Slave
Flyleaf – Light in Your Eyes
Lecrae – Go Hard or Go Home
& our very own – Stephanie Gray – Ice Melting
Check her out on her facebook page as she is doing continued ministry through music and missions and her music will eventually be available to support her work. 🙂
