A stroll through Icheon’s Red Light. (I took this vid personally). Icheon is different from Incheon and is not a typo.
To go to Icheon, coming from Seoul, Take the bus at Dong-Seoul Bus Terminal (East Seoul) right across Gangbyeon Station (Green Line) and Technomart Building. Tickets going to Icheon are at 3,800Won (Tell the ticket guy at the counter – “Gyeonggido Icheon-shi”). Buses leave almost promptly every hour (allow 15 minutes delay). Travel time is about 45 minutes – depending on traffic. Arriving at the bus station in Icheon, ask to be taken to Changjon-dong (probably 2,000 W cab ride) and walk around in the inner streets especially at night and you will see these old women in red lighted rooms. Exchange rate is almost 1=1 to a US Dollar.
Prostitution tho illegal in Korea is a 20 Billion US Dollar industry. Foreign women from Southeast Asia and Russia are trafficked into Korea to serve primarily the US Servicemen at the Bases there. These local Korean women however service Korean men. The most notorious of all hooker districts are at Itaewon at the Hooker Hill.
In a survey by Men’s Health Magazine, Korean men claims to have more sex than any other nationalities (over 30 countries were included in the survey) at almost 5 times a week, incidentally on the same survey, Korean women are the most sexually dissatisfied.
In the recent years, Korean prostitutes in New York has the most number of arrests for solicitation, etc. with an overwhelming 90%++ of all the prostitution arrests.
