Thailand’s notorious red-light district city Pattaya was deserted today (July 27) following a Covid-19 third wave lockdown. The normally-packed beachfront has been eerily quiet after a lockdown, curfew and travel ban was ordered to curb rising numbers of infections. Pattaya attracts millions of tourists every year but after the surge in the number of cases in the province, Chonburi Communicable Disease Committee set additional measures that include shutting down beaches to reduce the close contact between people.
