Koinange Street had been regarded by many as Nairobi’s red light district where commercial sex workers operate. Lately, sex workers have changed tactics and have moved away from Koinange Street in Nairobi’s Central Business District. The sex workers have now moved to close vicinities of the many nightclubs within residential estates in Nairobi which essentially implies that they are taking services closer to the customers. The most affected estates are in the Eastlands which has caused concern to some of the residents who saythe decadent practice is eroding the moral fabric of their societies. Many who have opted to continue plying their trade in town have moved to River Road and adjacent streets like Accra Road, Latema Road, and Luthuli Avenue. But what might have occasioned their migration from Koinange Street?
